Kalam inaugurates mobile clinic in Uttaranchal

Almora: President A P J Abdul Kalam on October 19 inaugurated a mobile clinic for the benefit of people living in the far-flung hilly regions of Uttaranchal.

The clinic, equipped with X-ray, ultrasound and electro cardio gram (ECG), is a joint project of Uttaranchal government and Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC).

Under the project, to be managed by Birla Institute of Technology, medical facilities would be available at a nominal consultation fee of Rs 10.

Earlier, Kalam met a local delegation and assured them that a bus stand would be set up in Almora.

Shekhar Chand Joshi, a lecturer in the Kumaon University, presented a portrait of Kalam made of nails.

Union Tourism Minister Jagmohan, state Governor S S Barnala and Chief Minister N D Tiwari attended the function held at the Circuit House at Almora.
