Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on October 19 left for Bangkok to meet
National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) (Issac-Muivah) leaders, sources close
to the Chief Minister said in Aizawl.
He was accompanied by his wife Roneihsangi, the sources said.
This is his third visit to the Thai capital to meet NSCN (I-M) leaders including its
general secretary Th Muivah and chairman Issac Chishi Swu since 1999.
Zoramthanga, before leaving for Bangkok, said that his mission would be to create a
conducive atmosphere between the Centre and the Naga rebels for future talks.
He said that he was requested by both the Centre and the NSCN leaders to be involved
in the talks to create an atmosphere of mutual understanding between the two sides.
He expressed the hope that the Naga peace talks would continue without any problem
and culminate in signing of an honourable settlement for both the parties.
