Bangalore: Additional director general of police (ADGP - crime and technical services) M D Singh has been appointed as the new Bangalore police commissioner by Karnataka government, official sources said.

Singh, a former ADGP (law and order), said at Bangalore on October 19 that he is taking over from the incumbent H T Sangliana on October 21.

Sangliana has been promoted as director general of police (prisons), the sources added.
