Jammu: Pakistani troops opened heavy fire at several places along the line of control (LoC) seriously injuring a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir since October 19 night, official sources said on October 20.

BSF personnel Ram Singh was injured at the Khora border outpost and admitted to hospital, they said.

An electric tower and two BSF vehicles were damaged as 82-mm bombs and grenades exploded in Mangu Chak area of Hiranagar sector in Kathua district on October 19 evening.

Pakistani troops also opened machine gun fire at Mangu Chak from their Gopalpur post for about an hour and were seen evacuating villages in the area expecting a retaliation from Indian side, the sources said.

The Indian forces, they said, retaliated with restraint.

Heavy exchange of firing between the two sides was reported from Siachen Glacier, Drass, Mushkoh and Kargil sectors, the sources said.
