Vadodara: Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) would file a case against Vishwa
Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia for his "derogatory" remarks against
party president Sonia Gandhi.
A senior party leader and former GPCC chief Amarsinh Chaudhary said that he has
already demanded registration of case against Togadia by the Gujarat government as
done in the case of Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray by the Maharashtra government for
advocating formation of Hindu suicide squads.
Chaudhary said, "It is a fit case for arrest of Togadia under Prevention of
Terrorism Ordinance (POTO) and if the Gujarat government fails to take any action,
then Congress will file a case in the court."
On October 21, senior Congress leader Balram Jhakhar had also said in a statement in
New Delhi that he would initiate legal action against Togadia for his "indecent"
utterances.
