Vadodara: Police has arrested one more accused in connection with the Godhra train
carnage that had claimed lives of 59 Ramsevaks on February 27.
Police on October 25 said Riyazuddin Aval, manager of Aman guest house at Singal
Faliya near railway station at Godhra, was arrested on October 24, police
said.
The guest house was owned by Razzaque Kurkur, who is in judicial custody after
expiry of 14 days police remand, police said.
Interrogation of another accused Nanhe Mian alias Nikku Chaudhary, a dismissed
police constable, who was nabbed in Uttar Pradesh, led to the arrest of Aval. Mian
had frequently visited Godhra and stayed in the guest house.
Meanwhile, a special team of Gujarat police was camping in Jammu and Kashmir to
investigate links of Mian who was posted there.
Mian was involved in drug trafficking and illegal sale of arms. It was, however, yet
to be established if he had any link with militant outfits in Kashmir or Assam as
his native village is in Naogaon district.
