Ramallah (West Bank): Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on October 29 announced his
new Cabinet to Parliament ahead of a key confidence vote, reports said.
Arafat named four new ministers, including Interior Minister Hani al-Hassan, a
stalwart from the Palestinian leader's Fatah movement, which dominates the
Parliament.
He also proposed a new Health Minister, Ahmed Shibi, likewise from Fatah, a new
Justice Minister, Zoheir Sourani, an independent close to Fatah, and a new minister
for prisoners, Hisham Abdelrazaq.
At the same time he named Samih Rosha in charge of Orient House, the unofficial base
of the Palestine Liberation Organisation in Jerusalem.
