Shimla: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national disciplinary committee chairman O P
Kohli on October 31 said "desired action" would be taken against the dissidents in
Uttar Pradesh if negotiations to solve the crisis proved futile.
He expressed hope that the central leadership would be able to pacify the dissidents
and said every effort would be made to resolve the crisis through negotiations.
"But desired action would be taken to curb dissidence, if these efforts were
rendered futile," Kohli, also the national secretary of the party, said in Shimla.
Expressing concern over the comments by some party state leaders over delimitation
issue in Himachal, he said such acts would be viewed as indiscipline and attract
stringent action.
Stating that the Delimitation Commission was a Constitutional body and the
government had no control over it, he said while there was nothing objectionable in
demanding that delimitation be logical it was "totally wrong, baseless and
illogical" to say that the state government was influencing the Commission.
The BJP secretary said the party would contest the next Assembly elections in
Himachal under the leadership of Chief Minister P K Dhumal.
