New Delhi: Terrorism in all its aspects will figure prominently at the first ever
India-ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Summit on November 5 in
Cambodia where Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is also expected to interact with
Chinese and Japanese Premiers.
Vajpayee, who will be leaving on a five-day visit to Cambodia and Laos on November
4, will also lay crucial emphasis on greater economic and trade co-operation between
India and the 10-member grouping of which the US, Russia, China and Japan are
dialogue partners besides India.
The Prime Ministerial delegation would include External Affairs Minister Yashwant
Sinha and National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra.
Vajpayee, who has paid a visit to Cambodia in April 2002, would meet leaders of
ASEAN for a comprehensive review of Indo-ASEAN strategic partnership.
ASEAN comprises Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam,
Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia and Laos.
