New Delhi: Regal Cinema in the heart of the capital was evacuated on November 1
afternoon following a telephone call to police that a bomb had been placed inside
the premises.
The telephone call by an anonymous person was made to the police control room (PCR)
at 13:22 hours (IST), deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) Mukesh Meena said.
A posse of police accompanied by the Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad was rushed to
the spot and the cinema hall located in Connaught Place was evacuated, Meena said.
Altogether 37 people were watching the movie 'Mummy' at that time.
The area was cordoned off and a thorough search was being conducted under the
supervision of Meena.
Meanwhile, the call has been traced to a PCO at New Delhi Railway station with
number 3746246, he said.
