Bangalore: Jataayu Software on November 1 announced the launch of SMS eXchange, a
general purpose short message service (SMS) messaging platform for enterprises and
mobile operators, and multi media messaging client for Windows powered smart phone
and pocket personal computer (PC) phone edition.
Launching the two products at Bangalore IT.COM 2002, its chief executive officer
(CEO) Mahesh Jain said SMS eXchange offers benefits such as high level availability
of communication for an enterprise's employees and clients, remote access to
enterprise information and instant alerts of messages.
Jain said SMS eXchange is a significant addition to the office communication
systems, which have been dominated by voice, e-mail, and fax, adding, it provides a
bridge between the ubiquity of SMS and efforts to mobile-enable enterprises.
According to him, the MMS client follows the conformance specification defined by
Nokia and Ericsson.
MMS client, Jain said, would go a long way in providing operators with revenue-
yielding services over both 2.5G and 3G networks.
Director of MaW Raj Kesarimall, said MMS client provides a value proposition to
smart mobile device manufacturers in rapidly evolving markets, as it is platform
agnostic, highly portable and easily customisable.
