Delhi attack 'serious', forces on high alert: PM
Monday, November 4 2002 12:07 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on November 4 said the terrorist attack at a shopping mall in the capital on November 3 was "serious" and security forces have been put on a high alert.

Complementing the security forces, he said police were alert and that was the reason they were able to gun down the two terrorists.

"Today terrorist strike can take place anywhere and anytime," he cautioned while noting that the strike had taken place in the heart of the capital.

The Prime Minister, who was talking to reporters at the airport shortly before emplaning for a five-day visit to Cambodia and Laos, said, "Security forces have been put on high alert and people should be careful".
