K'taka rejects demand of minister as emissary
Monday, November 4 2002 13:55 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: The Karnataka Cabinet on November 4 rejected the demand of forest brigand Veerappan to send Minister for Agro Processing Raju Gowda as an emissary to negotiate the release of Janata Dal – United (JD-U) leader H Nagappa.

Briefing reporters, Minister for Information Kagodu Thimappa said there was no question of sending a minister or a legislator as an emissary.

The government, he said, had no objection to sending Tamil activist Kollathur Mani as an emissary if he secured bail. Mani is facing five cases, including two in the Karnataka High Court.
