Nagpur: Maharashtra police was in touch with its counterpart in Delhi to seek details
of links of the two terrorists, killed in an encounter in a shopping plaza in Delhi,
with some persons in Mumbai, according to Minister of State for Home, Manikrao
Thakre.
"Our police is seeking all relevant information about the links of the two terrorists
killed in the Ansal Plaza shootout on November 3 , including their hideouts, shelter
and movements", Thakre told reporters in Nagpur on November 6.
Thakre claimed that the law and order situation in the second capital in particular
and in the state in general was satisfactory.
The number of posts mainly of inspectors and sub-inspectors, lying vacant, are being
filled shortly since a sizeable number of policemen and officers have been relieved
of their duty from airport security at Mumbai, Aurangabad and Nagpur with the
deployment of CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) personnel, Thakre
said.
On acquiring anti-land mine vehicles to counter naxal attacks, Thakre said a
three-member committee has recently submitted its report but a decision is yet to be
taken.
