Bangalore: China is fast becoming a world hub for manufacturing for many MNCs and
India has all the capability to compete with it. "It is this message of optimism and
confidence that is being conveyed at the 10th Quality Summit being organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Bangalore, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, CII
National Committee on Quality, said.
The three-day Quality Summit being held from Nov 14, has "Quality & Competitiveness;
We can make it happen", as its theme based on CII's theme for the year
"Competitiveness of India Inc", Srinivasan who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of
Sundaram Clayton and TVS Motor Company, told reporters on November 6.
The three-day event, will feature outstanding overseas speakers including TQM Guru Dr
Hitoshi Kume (Japan), Dr Bill Curtis (USA), Dr Larry Farell (USA), Jim Speirs (UK)
and Guillermo Wille (GE), he said.
The summit, which will focus on quality in manufacturing sector, will discuss issues
such as Return on Quality Investment, Managing Stakeholder expectations, Strategies
for
growth, Best Practices in Manufacturing, New Technologies in people management and
Becoming a Global Player, he said.
The Summit will address SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in particular, who will
form 50 per cent of the 600 odd participants at the Summit, K N Shenoy who heads the
CII Institute of Quality, said.
Besides, a unique road show, the Summit will also feature a session on success
stories about unusual leadership like that of Lijjat Pappad, Srinivasan added.
