Chennai: The family members of former Karnataka minister Nagappa, abducted by forest
brigand Veerappan more than 70 days ago, called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Jayalalithaa on November 6 to seek the latter's help in securing his release.
Nagappa's wife, Parimala, son Preetham and daughter Bhavan met the Chief Minister at
the Secretariat for nearly 30 minutes, when they sought Jayalalithaa's co-operation
to secure the release of Nagappa from the clutches of Veerappan.
Later, Bhavan told reporters that they sought Tamil Nadu government's "fullest co-
operation" to secure the release of her father like done during the abduction of
Kannada actor Rajkumar, two years ago.
"Jayalalithaa has assured us all help after consulting legal experts," Bhavan
said.
Soon after Nagappa's abduction, Parimala and her family members had planned to call
on Jayalalithaa to seek her help, but such a meeting did not materialise.
