Vadodara: Congress president Sonia Gandhi would launch the party's campaign for
Gujarat Assembly polls on November 11 from Karamsad village, from where chief
Minister Narendra Modi had kick-started BJP's (Bharatiya Janata Party) election
campaign on October 31.
Karamsad, birthplace of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, holds
special significance for both the parties even as BJP would start the ninth phase of

its "Gujarat Gaurav Yatra", now converted into election yatra, from Dakor also on
November 11.
This phase of the yatra, to be led by Modi and president of BJP state unit
Rajendrasinh Rana, would cover Kairam, Panchmahals, Vadodara, Bharuch and Surat
districts, the
general secretary of the state unit of BJP Bhupendra Sinh Chudasama said on November
6.
He said from Dakor, the yatra would proceed to Godhra, where Modi would address a
public meeting.
Modi's Godhra visit is significant as speculation was rife that he might contest the
Assembly poll from Godhra or Halol constituencies.
The yatra would then proceed to Vadodara, where after a public meeting, Modi will
make a night's halt.
