Bangalore: Top amateurs are expected to vie for honours in the South India Junior/Sub Junior Golf Championship, and South India Amateur Open Championship to be held at the Eagleton Golf Resort on the city outskirts from November 12, and November 21, respectively.

Eagleton's director (operations and marketing) Kiran Kumar Meda told reporters on around 60 boys from different parts of India are expected to take part in the four- day Junior/Sub Junior Championship.

Competitions would be held in four age groups -- 15-17, 13-14, 11-12 and below 10. Some of the top players to have confirmed their participation include Askirat S Duliet, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Amanjyot Singh and Khalin H Joshi.

Around 80 amateurs are expected to participate in the South India Open, Meda said.

According to him, the golf course at Eagleton has been rated as one among the top five golf courses in India. Plans are on to host a professional championship here next year, Meda added.
