Mandya: The District Farmers' Action Committee on November 9 gave an ultimatum to
the government that if by November 15 it did not fulfil the demands put forward by
the farmers, the ongoing Cauvery agitation would be intensified.
Announcing the formation of "Cauvery Jala Raksha Dala", president of the committee,
G Madegowda on November 9 told reporters that the group had been formed to protect
the interest of the farmers of the Cauvery basin.
Madegowda criticised the government saying that it had completely failed to
safeguard the interest of the farmers.
