Kathmandu: A powerful bomb exploded in a municipality building on November 10
morning, six kilometres from here, partially damaging it but injuring no one, police
sources said.
The explosion in Kirtipur municipality, suspected to have been planted by Maoists,
came ahead of the three-day nationwide general strike called by the outlawed Maoist
organisation starting from November 11.
Kirtipur municipality is said to be one of the Maoist strongholds in the Kathmandu
valley, where the suspected Maoists shot dead Nepali Congress party worker Sanjaya
Singh at his home on October 31.
