Kathmandu: At least two persons were killed and over 20 others injured, many of them
critically, when a passenger bus ran over a land mine laid by Maoist rebels in Nepal
on November 14.
The explosion occurred at Mudhe area of Sindhupalchowk district, 75 km East of
Kathmandu, security sources said. The bus was heading to Kathmandu from Charikot.
Fourteen seriously injured people were airlifted by the Army to Kathmandu where they
were undergoing treatment in a hospital.
Intensive search operations are on to hunt the terrorists, the sources said adding
the road has been cleared and transport service resumed in the area.
