VHP drops plans to mobilise activists for yatra
Sunday, November 17 2002 00:02 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has cancelled its plans to mobilise activists from Maharashtra and Rajasthan for its yatra from Godhra in Gujarat, following instructions from its international general secretary Dr Praveen Togadia.

VHP and Bajrang Dal activists from Maharashtra will not be proceeding to Godhra to participate in the yatra as Dr Togadia was able to mobilise activists within Gujarat itself, VHP's Maharashtra unit chief Vynkatesh Apte said.

About 5,000 VHP and Dal activists from all over Maharashtra were to proceed to Godhra to join the padshahi yatra.
