LS admits Oppn motion on Gujarat situation

New Delhi: An Opposition-sponsored adjournment motion on Gujarat situation was on November 18 admitted in the Lok Sabha.

Admitting the motion on the opening day of the winter session of Parliament, Speaker Manohar Joshi said the motion would be taken up for discussion immediately after the Question Hour.

The notice for the motion was given by Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPM) member Roopchand Pal.

Joshi said three other notices of adjournment motion had also been received including one from the leader of Opposition Sonia Gandhi on the prevailing drought in several parts of the country.

Another notice had been given by Samajwadi Party members Ramji Lal Suman and Akhilesh Singh on the political situation in Uttar Pradesh while the fourth notice was related to law and order situation in Gujarat.
