Srinagar: In a major explosives haul, 80 kg of RDX and arms and ammunition were
seized by security personnel during search operations in forests of Pulwama district
of Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said.
The haul included 70 kg of gun-powder, 67 rounds of ammunition, eight under-barrel
grenade launchers and six hand grenades, they said.
The search was launched in the forests of Rajpora belt on a tip off that some
militants were hiding in the area and the explosives were found dumped there, the
sources said.
This is the third major RDX haul in the state in the last 15 days. 150 kg of RDX was
recovered from Badshahnar forest early this month while 100 kg of the explosive
was seized from Anchar area of Srinagar on Saturday.
