Puttaparti: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived in Puttaparti on November 22 morning by a special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft to attend the birthday celebrations of "godman" Sai Baba with security further beefed up, apparently in the wake of a bomb blast at Sai Baba temple in Andhra Pradesh's Ranga Reddy district.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu received Kalam at the airport on his arrival from Delhi.

The tight security was further strengthened following the bomb explosion at Sai Baba temple at Dilkushnagar in Andhra Pradesh on November 21 which claimed the life of one person and left several others injured.

Kalam will deliver the convocation address at Sri Satya Institute of Higher Learning on November 22 and attend the birthday celebrations of Sai Baba before returning to Delhi on November 23.
