Srinagar: Pro-Pakistan militant outfits Jamiat-ul Mujahideen (JuM) and Harkat-e-Jehad-e-Islami (HeJeI) claimed responsibility for the landmine blast which killed five Army personnel and injured several others on Jammu-Srinagar national highway on November 23.

A person who identified himself as spokesman of JuM told local news agency NAFA that the two militant outfits carried out the attack which was a reply to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's claim that militancy in the state was about to end.
