Jammu: Defence Minister George Fernandes called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in Jammu on November 25 evening and discussed the situation with him in the wake of militant attack on Raghunath Temple complex.

They discussed measures for strengthening the security grid in view of Pakistan's continuous effort to push in foreign mercenaries for causing mayhem.

Earlier, Fernandes also called on Governor G C Saxena and reviewed the situation.

The Defence Minister, who arrived here this afternoon, also visited the Raghunath and Shiv temples in the city which the militants had stormed on November 24 night killing 12 people.

The Lashkar militants were also killed by the security forces on November 24 night.
