Hubli: Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna said here on November 26 that the government was making sincere efforts to secure the release of former Minister H Nagappa from forest brigand Veerappan.

The government has decided to explore all possible steps including withdrawal of all cases against jailed Tamil activist Kollathur Mani for Nagappa's release, he told reporters.

On the boundary dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra, he said, Mahajan Commission's report on the issue should be implemented in toto.

In case Maharashtra moves the Supreme Court on the issue, "We will also approach the apex court and present our stand and plead that the four decade-old dispute be resolved by the implementation of Mahajan Commission's report," he added.
