Attack on Israeli tourists kills 15 in Kenya
Thursday, November 28 2002 22:30 Hrs (IST)

Kikambala (Kenya): In nearly simultaneous attacks on Israeli tourists in Kenya, a car bomb exploded at an Israeli-owned hotel on November 28, killing 15 people, and at least two missiles were fired at an Israeli airliner but missed.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attacks, but Israeli and Kenyan officials suspected Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network was responsible.

Kenyan Ambassador to Israel, John Sawe, said, "I don't have any doubt this is al- Qaida."
