Imphal: Heavy exchange of fire between Manipur insurgents and security forces were reported from Nambol area in Bishenpur district on November 28.

First official reports said the encounter between the two lasted some hours. Casualty on either side was not yet known.

Security reinforcements have rushed to the spot, about 30 kilometres South of here. Further details were awaited.
