Patna: Senior correspondent of 'India Today', Sanjay Jha along with his photographer, Paras Kumar and camera man of 'Aaj Tak', Pramod, was assaulted and looted by unidentified miscreants in Bihar's Begusarai district on November 27 night.

Six miscreants travelling in a car overtook the mediamen’s taxi near Surabhara village under the Mufassil police station and forcibly took them to an isolated place at gunpoint, according to police superintendent Rajesh Chandra.

They later beat up Jha and others and snatched their video and still cameras and other valuables. Jha complained to the police that the criminals also looted around Rs 15,000 from them.

An FIR was lodged with Mufassil police station in this connection and raids were being conducted to arrest the miscreants.

The incident took place when they were returning to Patna after covering a story in Bhagalpur.
