Jammu: Thirty-four people were on November 30 feared killed and 21 injured when the
vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off a bridge and fell into a 400-feet-
deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.
The accident took place at Khalinee, 11 km from Doda town, when the driver of the
overcrowded vehicle, on way to Humble village from the city, lost control of it
while negotiating a sharp curve, the sources said.
Twenty-one bodies have been taken to the Doda district hospital, they
said.
The injured have been admitted to the hospital where the condition of many of them
was stated to be serious, they said.
Doda district collector Bashrath Ahmed Dar said rescue operation has been launched
with the help of Army.
