BJP manifesto stresses on development, security
Sunday, December 1 2002 16:17 Hrs (IST)

Ahmedabad: Seeking a mandate on the "overall development of Gujarat and personal security of five crore people of the state" the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on December 1 released its election manifesto for the December 12 hustings.

Encompassing power, education and irrigation as infrastructural bases for development of agriculture, human resources and industries respectively, the BJP also assured "clean and transparent governance" to expedite the otherwise tedious and time-consuming administrative hassles.

Caretaker Chief Minister Narendra Modi, addressing reporters, said, "Going by the global experiences, it has been proved that willingness is more important than policy-making and BJP will show masses that it is committed to implementing all the points of the manifesto."
