Srinagar: Security forces laid a siege to a mosque in Sheikhgund of Anantanag
district on December 3, where a militant has taken refuge since December 2 evening,
official sources said.
The militant, whose identity was not known, took shelter in the mosque following a
search operation launched by security forces to nab ultras hiding in Shangus area,
in the wake of specific information, they said.
However, the forces did not carry out any offensive against the militant and are
persuading him to surrender, the sources said.
