Ahmedabad: The condition of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh, who
was injured in a road accident on the night of December 1, was reported as "stable
and fine", civil hospital sources said.
The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was advised further rest on December
2 at the hospital for observation and was likely to be discharged by December 3
afternoon.
"All medical tests conducted on him yesterday were normal. We requested him to stay
at the hospital for the night just to observe him and be absolutely sure that he is
all right," doctors attending on the BJP leader said.
The doctor however, could not confirm if Singh would continue his canvassing
schedule, but said that he could do with some more rest.
Singh also paid a visit to Virendra Sengar, the journalist who was gravely injured
when their car collided with a state transport bus. Sengar sustained fracture on his
arm apart from several injuries on his head, chest and legs and might have to be
operated, hospital sources said.
The condition of National Security Guard (NSG) commando, Arvind Kumar Bhadoria, was
better. The car driver, Sanjay Naik, was the only casualty in the accident when a
speeding bus collided with the car.
