Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on December 4 said the
country's nuclear assets were in safe hands, allaying fears expressed by Russian
President Vladamir Putin over the danger of its nuclear weapons falling into the
hands of extremists.
"Pakistan's nuclear assets are in safe hands. Pakistan is a positive thinking
country and there is no need for worry about country's nuclear programme," Jamali
told reporters.
Asked when he planned to prove his majority in the Parliament, Jamali said he was
not in a hurry.
His government managed to regain one-vote majority in the 342-member National
Assembly after Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) withdrew its threat to vote against
the government.
