New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on December 5 greeted the people, particularly Muslims, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and urged them to follow the ideals of peace and tolerance as preached by Islam.

"I join my brothers and sisters in the Muslim community in celebrating the occasion and reaffirm my commitment to peace, tolerance and compassion," Gandhi said in a message.
