Bangalore: Israel's Shalon Simon and Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka advanced to the final
of Wheel Chair-II (severe disability) singles event in the World Cup-2002 Badminton
for the Disabled on Saturday.
In the semi-finals, Simon defeated countrymate Kalvansky Shalon 15-7, 15-12, while
Weerasinghe beat India's Anjana Reddy 15-4, 15-0.
In the Wheel Chair-I (minor disability) singles, Holland's Michelsen Quincy
sidelined Baba Yossi (Israel) 15-10, 15-0 to move into the title round, where he
would meet Levi Amir (Israel), a 15-0, 15-3 winner over Kurzo Paul (Switzerland).
