Vadodara: Plunging into the campaign trail in Gujarat, Prime Minister Atal Behari
Vajpayee on December 7 described himself as an advocate of Chief Minister Narendra
Modi holding brief for him.
Addressing an election meeting, he said, "I don't think none needs to speak after
Narendrabhai's speech. But I am his advocate and it is my duty to hold brief for
him."
However, Vajpayee also mildly rebuked Modi for leaving the meeting venue before he
could speak.
"He (Modi) is a candidate and therefore he spoke first. He doesn't want to listen to
his advocate. Had he stayed back, I would have given him a good round of
arguments."
