Ahmedabad: Expressing shock over the death of abducted Janata Dal – United (JD-U)
leader H Nagappa, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on December 8 asked for a co-
ordinated effort to "liquidate or arrest" forest brigand Veerappan.
He assured Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments of all possible help from the Centre
to bring the brigand to book.
The body of former Karnataka minister was on December 8 found in Chengadi jungles
near Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border after Veerappan sent an audio-cassette tape washing
his hands off his captive claiming he was injured in an encounter with Tamil
Nadu.
