Bangalore: At least six mediapersons were injured as enraged supporters of Janata Dal – United (JD-U) leader H Nagappa, whose body was found on December 8, resorted to stone-throwing outside his residence at Kamagere in Chamarajnagar district.

ANI correspondent Vasuki and its cameraman Mohan, 'The Week' correspondent Bhanu Tej, 'Samyukta Karnataka' correspondent Shanthala, NDTV cameraman Vinu and photographer of 'Rajasthan Pathrika' Anand received injuries in stone-pelting, Bhanu Tej said.

He said the mediapersons had to run from the scene.

Meanwhile, reports of violence have come from Kollegal taluk as restive crowd on hearing Nagappa's death indulged in stone-throwing at Kamagere, the home town of the former minister.

Thousands of people had gathered outside the residence of Nagappa.

Shop owners and business establishments downed their shutters on hearing of Nagappa's death.
