Bangalore: Karnataka government has beefed up security in the entire state to thwart
trouble in the wake of the death of Janata Dal – United (JD-U) leader H Nagappa
while in the captivity of forest brigand Veeerappan.
"We have made elaborate security arrangements in the state", state director general
of police (DGP) T Madiyal said.
Madiyal was closetted with Home Minister M Mallikarjuna Kharge, Bangalore police
chief M D Singh and security advisor to government T Srinivasulu at a high-level
meeting to take stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, additional director general of police (law and order) Subhash Bharani has
rushed to Chamarajanagar in the wake of the body being recovered in that
district.
