Washington: Lauding the contribution made by Indians to the American society, US
President George W Bush has said that the Indian community formed an important part
of the country's cultural diversity.
"Indian Americans have made numerous contributions to our nation and continue to be
an important part of our cultural diversity," Bush said in a message to the Indian
American Forum for Political Education (IAFPE) on the occasion of the Forum's 20th
anniversary.
"The strength of our Democracy relies on the participation of all our citizens, and
by addressing critical issues that affect Indian American communities, IAFPE is
fostering civic awareness and promoting the ideals that make our country strong," he
said.
He commended the participants in the anniversary gathering for "encouraging Indian
American participation in local and national politics".
Bush also applauded the Forum's "important work with Indian American youth".
"Your dedication to our Democratic process ensures a brighter future for all
Americans," he said.
