Srinagar: Two militants were among three persons killed and two arrested while police recovered some arms in Jammu and Kashmir on December 10, a police spokesman said.

An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces during search operation in the forests of Panzullah in Baramulla district of North Kashmir, the spokesman said.

He said body of a Hizbul Mujahideen militant Jehangir Ahmad Kataria alias Zahid was recovered from Bimer Nursur area of Anantnag district.

Police recovered bullet-riddled body of a civilian identified as Hussain Ali from his village at Jhamlan-Dhadan in Udhampur district, the spokesman said.

He said police arrested one Syed Mohammad Yousuf Mir,a while he was extorting money from a person in his village.

The spokesman said a Pakistan-trained militant of Hizbul Mujahideen, Firdous Ahmad Bhat was arrested by security forces during checking of vehicles at Tulmulla area of Ganderbal on the outskirts of Srinagar.

Police recovered a bag containing an AK assault rifle four magazines with 120 rounds, near a cardboard factory at Muthi in Jammu, the spokesman said.
