Parliament passes Bill on Cable TV Networks
New Delhi: The long-awaited Bill seeking to make it mandatory for cable TV viewers to access desired pay channels through an addressable system was passed by Parliament on December 10, with the government assuring that it will not regulate content or specify channels through it.
No liquor, tobacco ads, overt or proxy: Swaraj
New Delhi: Government on December 10 said it will allow neither overt nor surrogate advertisements on liquor and tobacco in the audio-visual media and a committee constituted for the purpose has already sent notices to several TV channels against whom complaints were received.
