Ahmedabad: Six Congress workers were attacked with sharp weapons, allegedly by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, on December 11 at Dharia village in Halol Assembly constituency of Panchmahals district, police said.

The Congress workers were reportedly attacked by around "100 armed BJP workers", when they were returning in their car in the evening after handing over the relevant form to appoint their election agent, police sources said.

Though no arrest has been made, Halol police has registered an offence against "unnamed 100 BJP workers".

The injured Congress workers were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
