London: British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw will visit India early next year,
accepting an invitation from External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on December 11
as the two leaders met and discussed Indo-Pak relations and a range of other
regional and international issues.
Sinha, who made a stopover in London on his way to Cape Town to attend Non Aligned
Movement's Foreign Ministers' meeting, extended the invitation at a working lunch
hosted in his honour by Straw.
Emerging from the meeting, Straw said they discussed a range of regional and
international issues, including India's relationship with Pakistan. "And I
reiterated my support for a permanent Indian seat on the UN Security
Council."
The two leaders also discussed Iraq issue and progress made in bilateral
ties.
