Ahmedabad: Concerned over complaints of names of several people missing from the voters list, the Gujarat election authorities on December 12 directed district collectors to probe the matter.

"I have come to know that several people have complained of their names missing from the voters list. I have instructed all concerned district authorities to investigate the matter immediately," chief electoral officer Gurucharan Singh told reporters.

Singh, however, could not say how many such complaints the election department had received till late afternoon.

Meanwhile,Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia, whose name also did not figure in the voters list from Sarkhej constituency, said he would also give a written complaint to the Election Commission.
