Ahmedabad: A fire broke out in the basement of a crowded multiplex on
Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway on the city outskirts on December 12.
However, no casualties were reported, fire brigade sources said.
Fire officials told reporters that the fire, which broke out at around 2.45 pm, was
not very intense but smoke was very thick.
Four fire fighters and four water tankers rushed to the spot to control the fire and
evacuate people trapped inside the multiplex.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was caused due to a short circuit in
the basement, fire department sources said.
Police also rushed to the spot and are investigating the case.
