New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on December 12 ruled that a film on the December 13
Parliament attack scheduled to be aired by a television channel could be done if a
Special Court holding trial in the case grants permission for it.
A division bench comprising Justice Anil Dev Singh and Justice R S Sodhi issued the
direction following a petition by four accused in the Parliament attack case
pleading that telecast of the film by Zee Network would prejudice their case on
which judgement is likely to be pronounced on December 16.
Issuing notices to Zee Telefilms Limited and the special cell of Delhi police, the
court directed them to submit their replies by January 14.
Meanwhile, the bench said the Special Court would pass an order on the issue only
after giving a chance of hearing to the accused - Shaukat Hussain and Mohammad
Afzal, the alleged Jaish-e-Mohammad militants, a city college suspended lecturer S A
R Geelani and Hussain's wife Navjot Sandhu - who are facing trial in the case.
